When to Visit Rome

The Rome weather is typical of a European city, experiencing hot and pleasant summers and cold winters where it can sometimes snow. The busiest season for visitors to Rome is during the summer, especially in August when the city is packed. Many choose to visit the city just before the high season sometime in April or May when the weather is still excellent. However, as there are so many things to do in Rome you can visit at any period of the year and have an incredible time. There are two main airports in Rome - Leonardo da Vinci International Airport and Rome Ciampino Airport. Leonardo da Vinci International Airport, also commonly known as Rome Fiumicino Airport, is the country’s busiest airport, while Rome Ciampino Airport is favored by budget airlines. Emirates and Alitalia operate flights from Dubai International Airport to Leonardo da Vinci International Airport, while those flying from Abu Dhabi International Airport can travel with Etihad Airways and Alitalia to the same airport. There are currently no flights from Rome Ciampino Airport to the UAE or Middle East.
