How to Check in

Checking in to your Alitalia flight is possible through a number of different ways including online check-in and via mobile. Web check-in opens 24 hours before flight departure times and enables passengers to easily check in no matter where you are. It is also possible to check in using your mobile device through a barcode which must be presented at the departure gate. Alternatively, it is just as easy to check in at the airport as Alitalia has automated check-in kiosks at many airports in Europe, while KLM and Air France kiosks also support Alitalia check-ins which boosts the chances your chosen airport supports fast check-ins.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Alitalia passengers are permitted check-in hold baggage as well as one item of hand baggage to take on-board during the flight. For checked baggage, passengers are entitled to either one of two items depending on your destination and flight class. Checked baggage must not exceed 158cm in dimensions or either 23kg or 32kg in weight depending on your fare and destination. Passengers are advised to consult with the airline before arriving at the airport to confirm your baggage allowance for your flight. The one item of hand baggage must not weigh more than 8kg or exceed 55cm x 35cm x 25cm. Any baggage that exceeds the allocated dimensions and weight will be subject to additional charges payable during check-in.

Seating

Alitalia flights offer spacious legroom which varies depending on your flight's class. Those flying in Economy can look forward to seating with a pitch between 30-35 inches, while those flying in Business Class can enjoy even more legroom dependent on the aircraft. The Premium Economy Class offers many perks such as seating in a quiet cabin section for more peace and privacy as well as seating offering 40% more leg room compared to regular Economy seats.

Booking Fees

Booking fees apply for passengers booking seat on Alitalia flights. The cheapest method of purchasing tickets is online where the booking fee is around 24AED, while booking your ticket by telephone is slightly more expensive at 38AED. Those booking tickets at any Alitalia ticket desk are charged 47AED for domestic flights, 98AED for Schengen area flights and 138AED* for all other flights.

On Board Service

Alitalia is renowned as one of the finest culinary airlines and has regularly been the recipient of awards. All Economy passengers are able to enjoy complimentary beverages and hot drinks as well as a meal or snack, while long-haul passengers can dine on a three course meal. Business Class passengers can sample authentic Italian wine as well as enjoy world-class Italian cuisine.
