Where to stay in Seoul
The capital of South Korea, Seoul is a vibrant city with many prominent districts each with their own style, ambience and attractions.
Seoul’s culture, scenery, modernity and hospitality makes it one of the most exciting destinations in Asia. The capital firmly maintains links to the past with attractions such as the Korean Folk Village and the National Folk Museum, while the Everland Theme Park, Lotte World and modern shopping malls underline its position as a modern 21st century destination.
Among the popular places to book hotels are the central areas of Myeongdong and Gangnam, while the culturally diverse district of Itaewon is also popular thanks to its busy nightlife scene. However, each area of the city is easy to reach thanks to the city’s subway system, which is a convenient and quick way to get around, although there are plenty of options if you wanted to rent a car in Seoul.
Myeongdong is arguably the most popular choice for tourists with great food outlets, modern shopping malls and a bustling yet vibrant atmosphere.
Located in the heart of Myeongdong, the Royal Hotel is a four-star option near a host of cultural, social and shopping areas with over 300 rooms, a spa, sauna and international dining outlets.
The mid-range Holiday Inn Express Seoul Euljiro is close to Myeongdong Cathedral, the Gyeongbok Palace and the Jogyesa Temple and offers in-hotel dining and a business center.
3. Mizo Hotel
The Mizo is a two-star hotel close to the Seoul Global Culture & Tourism Center, Namsan Park and the Dongdaemun Market and offers clean and comfortable rooms as well as a beauty spa close to one of the city’s busiest areas.
Now a global name thanks to the song “Gagnam Style”, the district of Gangnam is an upmarket part of Seoul with a range of hotels and a popular shopping, art and dining area called Garosugil.
Located just 200m from the World Trade Center and close to attractions like the Bongeunsa Temple and the National Folk Museum of Korea, the magnificent Intercontinental is a luxury hotel with elegant, well-appointed rooms and modern facilities.
Enjoying a central location close to restaurants, nightlife and tourist attractions, the four-star hotel is also within walking distance of the Yeoksam Subway Station and boasts brightly colored rooms and a vibrant style.
A budget choice in Gangnam, the Vole Hotel is less than 1 km from the subway and offers modern accommodation with a personal computer and free internet access in the rooms.
