Airport Information - Arriving
Dubai International Airport is the world’s busiest airport in terms of international passenger traffic handling over 83 million people every year. Once you have arrived at the airport you can journey into the center of Dubai by hopping on the Dubai Metro from Terminal 1 or Terminal 3, or you can flag down a taxi outside any terminal if you would prefer. At Dubai airport rental car companies are also available. During your stay at the airport there are a wealth of shops to browse through including duty-free shops, while there are also plenty of options available when it comes to dining and drinking. Additional amenities available to travelers include sleeping pods for a quick nap, free Wi-Fi throughout and numerous quality airport lounges.
Airport Information - Departing
Kigali International Airport is the main international gateway into Rwanda located just 5km outside of the city of Kigali. The airport itself consists of three passenger terminals and offers a limited range of facilities and amenities, so it is recommended to bring any provisions you need with you before traveling to the airport. As well as a café where you can pick up some refreshments, the airport provides Wi-Fi so you can stay connected. The airport is only a short distance away from central Kigali so it’s only a cheap taxi ride away.
What to Expect in Dubai
Remember that the weather in Dubai is very hot over the summer and stays hot for most of the year, although you can visit over the winter between December and March if you would prefer cooler temperatures. Although some nationals are allowed to enter Dubai without requiring a visa, Rwandan nationals will first have to acquire a visa before making the journey. Getting around and exploring the city of Dubai is possible using the Dubai Metro which you can access directly from the airport.
