Traveling to Bengaluru
The primary airport in Bengaluru is Kempegowda International Airport, also known as Bengaluru International Airport. The airport is situated around 40 km north of Bengaluru and ranks as the third busiest airport in India handling over 25 million passengers annually despite only opening in 2008. The airport is currently comprised of a single passenger terminal handling both domestic and international flights, although a second terminal is currently planned for construction and is projected to open around 2022. There are direct flights from Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. Emirates, Air India and IndiGo operate flights from Dubai, while Etihad Airways fly out of Abu Dhabi. From Sharjah International Airport you will be able to catch flights with Air Arabia and Air India.

When to Visit Bengaluru
The weather is fairly moderate and remains pleasant for most of the year, although most agree that it is at its finest around winter time between September and February. During this period the number of tourists visiting the city is at its peak, so those wishing to avoid the rush may want to visit Bengaluru just before or after this period. Be advised that the rainy season in Bengaluru tends to commence in May and only lets up around October, so it may be best to plan your trip around this period if you don’t like the rain.

Bengaluru Travel Information
All travelers flying into Bengaluru from abroad will be required to arrange a visa which can be done before flying. Most nationals including those from the UAE will need to apply for an e-visa at least four days before flights – this will allow you stay in the country for up to 60 days. The currency in India is the rupee, so be sure to change money before traveling or once you have landed at the airport.
