Kochi Airport
Kochi Airport is located 25 km north of Kochi. The drive takes around 45 mins by car or taxi, with taxis readily available outside of the airport. The KSRTC bus stops outside the departures terminal and buses go to a number of areas throughout the region of Kerala.
When to go to Kochi
Kochi can be visited any time of the year however, summer is not advised simply due to the intense heat. February to March is the best time to visit when the weather is just warming up and it is bright and sunny and not too humid. This is a good time of year to take boat rides on the emerald rivers that meander through Kochi. June to September is rainy season meaning there will be cheaper flights to Kochi around this time. This is an excellent time of the year to visit the rainforests in the area. The end of the monsoon period, from October to February is also a good time to visit Kochi with cheaper flights and just some light rain. There is also the draw of the Kochi Carnival which takes place in October.

Kochi has tropical monsoon climate. Summers (March to June) are intensely hot with monsoons rains. Temperatures in the summer can reach well over 30˚C, with high levels of humidity. Monsoons in Kochi begin in mid-June and last until September. Winters in Kochi are never very cold but may see the occasional shower.

Kochi is a beautiful port city on the southwest coast of India in Kerala, flanked by the Arabian and the Laccadive Seas. This tranquil little place is lined with soft sandy beaches and palm trees but as well as being a slice of paradise; Kochi has an interesting colonial history that can be seen in its architecture and elegant streets. Indian traditions of yoga, Ayurvedic massages and aromatically spiced seafood and delicious coconut curries are alive and well. The town also has plenty for visitors to see and do including carnivals and boat races, breathtaking views, art galleries, museums and opportunities for walking, hiking and watersports. The locals are friendly and welcoming and will ensure you leave with a smile on your face.
