Jeddah is Saudi Arabia’s second largest city and is served by King Abdulaziz International Airport. Passengers wishing to fly to Jeddah from Dubai are able to do so from Dubai International Airport, as Al Maktoum International Airport does not currently operate any flights to Jeddah. From Dubai International Airport travelers can catch flights to Jeddah with Emirates, flydubai, Flynas and Saudia. King Abdulaziz International Airport is the busiest airport in Saudi Arabia. It's known for its specialist Hajj terminal built for those undertaking the Hajj pilgrimage. The airport is comprised of three terminals - North, South as well as Hajj. The North and South Terminals are located 8 km apart from one another, so travelers needing to transfer will have to hop in a taxi to make the journey. All of the amenities you would need are available at the airport including places to eat and drink while you wait for flights. Most visitors to Jeddah get a taxi from the airport into the city, but be sure to agree on the fare before setting off for a fair price. Alternatively, private limousine companies operate at the airport if you want to enjoy a more luxurious journey to your destination. It's common for visitors to the city to rent a car in Jeddah.

Dubai International Airport is the primary international airport in Dubai offering flights across the world. The airport has three passenger terminals which are easily reachable from one another for those who need to make transfers. Getting to Terminals 1 and 3 is straightforward as they are connected to the Dubai metro network, while you can hop on the free shuttle bus to reach Terminal 2. Dubai International Airport is known for its wealth of amenities including designer stores, luxury goods and duty-free shopping. You also won’t be lacking in choices when it comes to eating and drinking as the airport offers everything from fast food outlets to high-end restaurants.

What to Expect in Jeddah

Jeddah is very hot all year round with temperatures reaching similar highs to Dubai. Although Saudi Arabia has a very strict visa policy, nationals from Gulf Cooperation Council countries including the UAE are allowed to enter the country without a visa. Prices in Jeddah are much lower compared to Dubai, with the average cost of a meal between 40-50% cheaper.
