Icelandair is Iceland’s primary airline offering flights to around 40 destinations around Europe and North America. Founded in 1937, Icelandair has its main hub at Keflavik International Airport and its headquarters at Reykjavik Airport, a domestic airport in the capital of Iceland. The airline offers its own frequent flyer program, Saga Club, rewarding loyal passengers. How to Check in

Passengers flying with Icelandair are able to check-in online or do things the conventional way by checking in at the airport. For those looking to check-in online, the service is available from 36 hours on European and Canadian flights and 24 hours on flights to and from the United States. Be advised that the online check-in service closes 90 minutes before scheduled departure times. Checking in at the airport is just as straightforward and many airports offer self-service check-in kiosks to skip the queues.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Icelandair flights allow passengers to bring baggage to check-in as part of the fare, although your allowance will vary according to your destination and flight class. Economy passengers are allowed one item up to 23kg, while Economy Comfort passengers are entitled to two items up to 23kg. Those in Saga Class are afforded additional baggage allowances with two bags up to 32kg each. Members of the Saga Club frequent flyer program are entitled to bring one more bag on top of their allowance. All passengers are allowed to bring an item of hand baggage to take on board no heavier than 10kg, increased to two items in Economy Comfort and Saga Class.


Icelandair flights offer a standard Economy Class as well as Economy Comfort and the premium Saga Class. Those in Economy are afforded ample legroom with a seat pitch of 32-33 inches, while in Saga Class this is increased to 40 inches. All passengers have the option to select a preferred seat during the booking process at no additional charge.

Booking Fees

There are no hidden fees applicable when booking with Icelandair, although there is a small surcharge of 25AED when booking online and 70AED* per person when booking with a sales agent.
