Bangkok has two airports - Bangkok Don Mueang and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi.

Direct flights from the UAE serve mainly Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport.

Bangkok Suvarnabhumi

Bangkok Suvarnabhumi is 18 miles (28km) from the center of Bangkok and can be reached in 30 minutes by car and taxi or by local bus BMTA in 45 minutes.

Bangkok Don Mueang

Bangkok Don Mueang is 15 miles (24km) from the center of Bangkok and takes approximately 3o minutes by car and taxi. Trains run from Don Mueang Station opposite the airport to Hua Lumpong Railway Station in central Bangkok, taking 60 minutes or there are local buses that depart from the front of the arrivals area taking in many of the major local hotels. Bus A1 offers services to Bangkok bus station every 20 minutes between 0830-2330.

When to go to Bangkok

Bangkok is warm all year round but when to go depends on whether you prefer dry sweltering heat or humid heat with downpours! Every season has its charms and the city is wonderful to explore at any time of year. Peak season is between November and March while March, April and May are the hottest months. April sees the famous Songkran Festival take place while Chinese New Year is celebrated in February. Full moon festivals are wonderful to see and usually take place around November however, Bangkok is a city that never sleeps and there is much to see all year round.

What to see and do in Bangkok
