Arriving in Pakistan

The two busiest airports in Pakistan are in Islamabad and Karachi. Islamabad International Airport is located 20 km southeast of Islamabad and is a brand-new, modern airport having opened up in 2018. The journey time by car or taxi is approximately 30 minutes depending on traffic. There is currently no public transport available from the airport, only taxi and car hire.

Karachi Jinnah International Airport is situated 14 km east of the center of Karachi. The journey time by car or taxi is approximately 40 minutes depending on traffic. There is a regular bus services linking the airport to the city in around 50 minutes.

When to Go to Pakistan

The best time to visit southern Pakistan is between November and March, when the days are cooler and for trekking in northern Pakistan from April to October – after this there is too much snow to access the mountains.
