Airport Information - Arriving

London Heathrow Airport is London’s busiest airport located just over 20 km from the center of London and set across four passenger terminals. The quickest way to travel from the airport into London is on the Heathrow Express train which will take just 15 minutes, although there are other options available including the London Underground, buses, coach or taxi. In addition to this, there are several car rental agencies if you want to explore London or more of England by car. An excellent range of facilities and amenities await travelers at the airport including a diverse range of restaurants and cafés as well as many retail, designer and duty-free shops. You can also choose between several luxurious airport lounges or connect to the airport’s free Wi-Fi network to access the web.

London Stansted Airport is London’s third busiest airport situated approximately 70 km from central London and is housed within a single terminal complex. The fastest way into London from the airport is the Stansted Express which takes around 45 minutes but there are other modes of transport available including buses, coaches and taxis. The airport offers plenty in terms of shops, restaurants and other facilities to keep travelers happy, and you can also benefit from free Wi-Fi access during your stay.

London City Airport is the closest airport to central London at just 7 km away and is comprised of a single passenger terminal. When you have arrived you can access the London Underground directly from the airport, although taxis are affordable given the short distance into London. The airport is fairly small but you’ll have access to all of the essential amenities including a few restaurants, bars and shops.

Airport Information - Departing

Frankfurt am Main Airport is Frankfurt’s main airport and the busiest airport in Germany. If you don’t want to drive or take a taxi to the airport you can use public transport with both the S-Bahn train and bus services available. This large airport is home to an excellent range of restaurants, shops and other amenities including several airport lounges, rest zones, showers to freshen up and plenty of children’s play areas and entertainment areas. Those driving themselves to the airport can also find ample short -and long-term parking.

Frankfurt Hahn Airport is located about 120 km from Frankfurt and currently serves low-cost carriers Ryanair and Wizz Air. The airport is relatively small but offers all of the essentials you would need including a few cafés and fast food chains as well as duty-free shopping and a couple of travel stores. There is also an observation deck and travelers can connect to the airport’s free Wi-Fi network for up to one hour.

What to Expect in London

There are lots of hotels in London catering for every budget. German nationals traveling to the UK do not need to worry about getting a visa, while UAE nationals can go online and apply for an electronic visa waiver in order to enter the country. In London average highs reach the mid-20s over the summer and the winters are fairly cold so make sure you pack appropriately.
