How to Check In

Online check in for Cathay Pacific flights is available from 48 hours and up to 90 minutes prior to flight departure. You can select or change your seat, self- print your boarding pass or send it to a mobile device, or collect it at the self check-in kiosks at the airport. If you have bags to check in you must take them to the Self Check-In Bag Drop Counter at the airport. If you prefer you can check in the old-fashioned way at the airport check-in desks where staff with book you a seat and print your boarding pass. You must check in at least 45 minutes prior to boarding – earlier for international flights.

Baggage Allowance and Fees

All passengers are entitled to a cabin bag allowance of 7 kg, with dimensions to be no larger than 56x36x23 cm. This is free of charge. Checked baggage entitlement for flights outside the United States is a maximum weight of 20 kg, while flights to and from the USA can be up to 23 kg each. Business Class passengers can have up to 30 kg checked baggage and First Class customers up to 40 kg. Excess baggage fees apply and cost from USD 10 to 60 per kg depending on the destination.


Only Members of The Marco Polo Club, Oneworld Ruby Tier members and First and Business Class passengers can choose their preferred seat when booking online. All other customers are assigned seats by the airline.
