Turkmenistan Airlines is the flag carrier of Turkmenistan based in Ashgabat, the capital of the country. First established in 1992, Turkmenistan Airlines has grown significantly over the years and now flies to over 20 destinations across Asia, Europe and the Middle East including flights to Abu Dhabi International Airport and Dubai International Airport. The main hub of the carrier is at Ashgabat International Airport, although it also operates from Turkmenabad Airport and Turkmenbashi Airport. Turkmenistan Airlines has a fleet of 33 aircraft and also holds codeshare agreements with Belavia and S7 Airlines.

How to Check in

Those catching flights with Turkmenistan Airlines will need to check-in the old fashioned way at the airport as the airline does not currently support online check-ins. In most cases check-in is available from 3 hours before international flights and 2 hours before domestic flights, although opening times can differ. Be sure to get to the airport early just to stay on the safe side in case of long waits. Those with seating preferences are able to speak with check-in staff at the airport.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Passengers flying with Turkmenistan Airlines are entitled to bring baggage to check-in, although how much you are allowed will depend on your flight class and destination. Be sure to check directly with the airline for accurate information about baggage allowances on your flight. For flights to and from Ashgabat International Airport, those flying in Economy are allowed up to 20kg and Business travelers are permitted up to 50kg. Be advised that no single item of checked baggage is allowed to weigh more than 30kg. In addition to checked baggage, travelers are also allowed up to 5kg of hand baggage to take on board flights. Those with excess baggage will need to pay excess fees of 55AED* per kilo on most flights, although this is subject to availability.

All international Turkmenistan Airlines flights offer a regular Economy Class alongside a premium Business Class for those who like to fly in style. All passengers are served a complimentary hot meal and refreshments, while in Business Class you can select from a varied menu of meals and enjoy seating at the front of the plane.
