Online check-in is available from 24 hours up to 2 hours before flights, although be advised that only a select number of airports currently support this method. For those looking to check-in at the airport, Vietnam Airlines advises all travelers on international flights to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before flights, reduced to 1 hour for domestic flights. Self-service check-in kiosks are also available at select airports to skip the queues, while counters open 3 hours before international flights and 2 hours before domestic flights.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Vietnam Airlines allow passengers to bring baggage to check-in as part of the fare, although specific allowances vary according to your cabin class and route. For example, those flying to Australia, Europe or the Middle East are allowed 40kg of baggage in Economy and 60kg in Business Class, while for flights in Asia this is reduced to 20kg and 30kg respectively. Alongside checked baggage, all travelers are allowed to bring one item of hand baggage on board no heavier than 7kg, increased to two items up to 7kg each in Business Class. On flights to Europe, Asia and Australia, Vietnam Airlines charge a flat rate of 75AED* per kg.

Vietnam Airlines offer a regular Economy Class alongside Premium Economy and a luxurious Business Class for those who like to travel in style.
