Airport Information - Arriving

Antalya Airport is situated just over 10 km from the city center and is the third busiest airport serving Turkey. The airport is made up of three passenger terminals and offers everything you would need for a pleasant stay. Once you have touched down at the airport, taxis can be found just outside of your terminal and there are also public bus routes available. Alternatively, if you're planning to explore further afield you could consider renting a car in Antalya. Inside the airport there are plenty of retail and gift shops available as well as duty-free shopping, while you also have a good choice of restaurants and cafés if you are feeling hungry.

Airport Information - Departing

Istanbul Airport is a brand-new airport serving Istanbul which replaced the older Ataturk International Airport. The airport is housed within a single terminal complex which is said to be one of the largest in the world and offers both domestic and international flights. The airport is currently served by public buses and will eventually be connected to the Istanbul metro system. All of the basics can be enjoyed at the airport including restaurants, duty-free and retail shopping and free Wi-Fi connectivity, while many more commercial options will open up in the future.

Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport is Istanbul’s secondary airport situated around 35 km from the city center. You can reach the airport via public transport if you don’t plan on taking a taxi or driving yourself. The airport offers a good range of amenities and services for travelers including retail and duty-free shopping, a few airport lounges and a varied choice of cafés and eateries. You can connect to Wi-Fi at the airport but you will need to pay a fee.

What to Expect in Antalya

The weather in Antalya is hot over the summer with average highs peaking at around 34 degrees, but it can get rather cold if you visit during the winter and it also rains frequently from December to February. Given that you are flying domestically between Istanbul and Antalya there’s no need to worry about a visa for this trip.
