Airport Information - Arriving

Madrid Airport is made up of four passenger terminals which you can travel between by a shuttle bus if you need to transfer between flights. When you have touched down in the country you can make your way into the center of the city by hopping on the metro line 8, although buses are also available and if you are planning to explore further afield you could consider renting a car. At the airport visitors can look forward to a huge array of amenities and services including luxury and duty-free shopping as well as a wide selection of dining and drinking choices. The airport also provides free Wi-Fi and has numerous Internet kiosks around to help travelers get online.

Airport Information - Departing

Tenerife South Airport is the primary airport serving Tenerife housed within a single passenger terminal. There are buses available which can take you to the airport from some of the towns on the island if you would rather avoid taking a taxi. At the airport there are plenty of places to enjoy a meal or a drink, or you can spend your time browsing through the numerous retail shops or do some duty-free shopping.

Tenerife North Airport is Tenerife’s secondary airport which is reachable by bus from select towns on the island. While the airport does not offer as many amenities as Tenerife South Airport, you can still find a couple of cafés and eateries as well as duty-free shopping on site. In addition to this, the airport provides free Wi-Fi so you can keep up-to-date with family and colleagues.

What to Expect in Madrid

The weather in Madrid is cooler compared to Tenerife, especially so over the winter when you will need to pack something warm. Given that you will be flying on a domestic route, there is no need to arrange a visa, but you will still need to present a valid passport at the airport in order to board your flight. Remember that Madrid is one hour ahead of Tenerife, so when you land don’t forget to set your clocks to local time.
