How to Check in

Passengers flying with Aer Lingus are able to check-in online or at the airport free of charge. The online check-in service provides passengers with a mobile boarding pass sent to an electronic device, although printed boarding passes can be arranged at a check-in desk if required. Travelers checking in at the airport are recommended to check-in between 2.5-3.5 hours before departure, especially during peak travel seasons. Online check-in is available between 2 and 30 hours for most European flights and between 2 and 24 hours for transatlantic flights.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Aer Lingus passengers are permitted one free item of cabin baggage no heavier than 10k or larger than 55cm x 40cm x 24cm, in addition to a small personal item such as a handbag or duty free shopping. Travelers checking in baggage will be required to pay an additional fee depending on the weight of the baggage and the length of the flight. Travelers should be advised that the best rates are available when booking your baggage in online rather than at the airport or over the phone. When checking in baggage at the airport, the only permitted weight limit is 20kg, whereas online there is a wider choice including 15kg, 25kg and 40kg in 2 bags.

Seating

Passengers are able to choose from a variety of on-board seats including Standard, Choice and Exit seats which vary in price. Standard seats are priced from 27 AED, while Choice seats cost from 46 AED and are located at the front of the aircraft for quick embarking and disembarking. Exit seats are available from 55 AED and provide generous legroom, while a select number of flights to Malaga and Faro have Premium seats available from 258 AED*. Choosing your designated seat can be done online during the check-in process. Passengers who do not wish to pay to select seating will instead be automatically allocated seating.

Booking Fees
