Air Algerie

Air Algerie is Algeria’s national airline based in Algiers, the capital of Algeria. From main operating hub at Houari Boumediene Airport, also known as Algiers International Airport, the airline flies to over 30 domestic destinations as well as 28 countries around the globe including Dubai International Airport. Founded in 1946, Air Algerie has grown significantly over the years to become one of Africa’s most prominent airlines. The airline is owned solely by the Algerian government and is taking strong steps to become a member of the SkyTeam airline alliance.

How to Check in

Travelers flying with Air Algerie are able to check-in either online or at the airport at your own convenience. The online check-in tool is open from 24 hours up to 3 hours before scheduled flight departure times and enables passengers to select a seat, although you will need to collect a boarding pass at the airport in order to get on your flight. Alternatively, do things the old fashioned way by checking in at the airport. Travelers on domestic flights are advised to arrive at a check-in desk at least 3 hours before flights, while those on international flights are recommended to arrive 4 hours before flights. Check-in counters close an hour before international flights and 45 minutes before domestic flights.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Passengers on Air Algerie flights are entitled to bring baggage to check-in, although specific allowances vary according to your flight route and cabin class. Be sure to check directly with the airline for up-to-date information about your baggage allowances. Be advised that no single item of checked baggage is allowed to exceed 32kg in order to comply with international regulations. Travelers are also permitted to bring one item of hand baggage on board flights no heavier than 10kg or larger than 35cm x 55cm x 25cm. Any baggage that exceeds your allowance will be subject to excess baggage fees.

On Board Service

Passengers in Economy are served food and refreshments which vary according to your flight length, with those on medium and long-haul flights able to enjoy meals and even select special meals up to 48 hours before flights. Business and First Class passengers can look forward to delicious gourmet meals designed by world-class chefs and enjoy complimentary refreshments. Passengers can also take advantage of the on-board duty free shopping to pick up some last minute gifts.
