AZAL, also known as Azerbaijan Airlines, is the flag carrier of Azerbaijan flying to over 50 destinations across Europe, Asia and the United States including Dubai International Airport. The main operating hub of the airline is Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The airline was founded in 1992 and has its own frequent flyer program, AZAL Miles, rewarding loyal passengers.

How to Check in

Those flying with AZAL are able to check-in online or do things the conventional way by checking in at a designated AZAL check-in counter. For those wishing to check-in online, this option is available from 20 hours before scheduled flight departure times and closes 40 minutes before flights. The airline also offers the option of a mobile check-in which can be arranged all from the convenience of your own mobile device. Alternatively, passengers can check in at an AZAL check-in counter at your chosen airport.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

All passengers on board AZAL flights can bring baggage to check-in, although just how much you are allowed will depend on your cabin class. Passengers in Economy are entitled to one piece up to 23kg, while in Comfort Club and Business Class this is increased to two pieces up to 32kg each and VIP Club members can bring three pieces up to 32kg each. Travelers may purchase additional baggage allowances at a price of 180AED per piece up to 23kg. Be advised that purchasing additional baggage must be done at least 3 hours before departures. Any passenger exceeding their baggage weight limit will need to pay an excess charge of 210AED.

Seating Information

AZAL flights offer a regular Economy Class alongside a Comfort Class, Business Class and VIP Club for those who like to travel in luxury. Comfort Class seats offer superior legroom to Economy seats, while in Business and First Class passengers can travel in supreme comfort. All passengers are served food and drinks on board flights which vary according to your destination, with those in Business Class and VIP Club served up world-class meals.
