Mumbai Airport, also known as Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, is around 10 km from the center of Mumbai. The airport is the second busiest in India handling over 48 million passengers annually and has regularly been awarded for its excellence. As well as a wide selection of domestic flights across India, the airport has excellent international collections including direct flights to and from the UAE.

Terminals at Mumbai Airport

Mumbai Airport has two passenger terminals providing both domestic and international flights. Terminal 1 is divided into three separate areas and is utilized for domestic flights, whilst the newer Terminal 2 is dedicated to providing international flights. Terminal 2 is celebrated as one of the finest passenger terminals in the country with a huge variety of amenities and top quality standards. As the two terminals are separated by a distance of 4 km, passengers that need to transfer between terminals will need to take the complimentary shuttle bus which runs every 20 minutes during the day.

Facilities at Mumbai Airport

There are a range of facilities and amenities available to travelers at Mumbai Airport including many places to eat and excellent shopping opportunities. There is a wealth of cafés and eateries open at both terminals ranging from fast food outlets to high quality restaurants. While there are more choices at Terminal 2, Terminal 1 still provides a large selection of places to eat and drink.

A wide range of shops are open to travelers including many internationally-recognized fashion brands at both terminals as well as shops selling electronics, beauty products, jewelry and much more. Duty-free shopping is also available in Terminal 2 as well as shops selling books and other travel necessities.

A children’s play area in Terminal 2 is the perfect place to take the kids for those traveling with children, whilst there are also dedicated baby care facilities available at both terminals. Mumbai Airport also provides special assistance including wheelchair access, although passengers are advised to contact their airline before arriving at the airport. Additional amenities at the airport include free Wi-Fi, luggage storage, airport lounges and currency exchanges.

Mumbai Airport Travel Information

Mumbai Airport is linked to both the public bus and train network for passengers preferring public transport. Andheri and Vile Parle train stations are a short journey away from the airport and offer travel to various destination within Mumbai. Alternatively, a number of bus routes run to and from the airport into central Mumbai and to the nearby train stations.

Licensed taxis fitted with meters are available just outside both terminals and pre-paid taxis can be arranged at taxi counters found inside the Arrivals hall of each area. Auto rickshaws are three-wheeled vehicles similar to taxis fitted with meters and can be found outside the terminals. Passengers looking for their own vehicle will be able to find car rental companies at both Mumbai airport terminals, whilst vehicle owners will be able to find parking outside of each terminal.
