The city of Melbourne has three airports - Melbourne Avalon Airport, Melbourne Tullamarine Airport and Melbourne Essendon Airport. Airport Information - Arriving
Melbourne Tullamarine Airport is the primary international airport serving Melbourne made up of four passenger terminals. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are all interconnected in the same complex, while Terminal 4 is housed in a separate building. You will find everything you would need at the airport whether it’s retail and duty-free shops or restaurants and cafes to enjoy a meal or a drink before continuing your journey. There are numerous ways to journey into the center of Melbourne from the airport including the Skybus service or by taxi.
Melbourne Essendon Airport is the most centrally located of Melbourne’s airports situated just 13km (8 miles) from the city center. The airport is fairly small but still offers an ample range of amenities and services so you won’t be lacking in things to do. The most popular way to travel into the city once you have landed is by taxi due to the close proximity of the airport to Melbourne’s city center.
Airport Information - Departing
Brisbane Airport is made up of two passenger terminals - an International Terminal and a Domestic Terminal. The airport also benefits from a large commercial development known as Skygate which offers a broad range of shops, restaurants and cafes to keep passengers entertained alongside everything on offer in both of the passenger terminals. Getting to the airport from central Brisbane is possible on the Airtrain network, although there are also many bus services running to and from the Skygate area.
What to Expect in Melbourne
In Melbourne you can expect the weather to be very hot over the summer, although things cool down significantly once winter comes along. If you want to visit when the city enjoys its hottest period then sometime between December and March would be best. You won’t require a visa when traveling between Brisbane and Melbourne as you are flying on a domestic route, but don’t forget to bring all your travel documents including your passport along.
