JetBlue is a low-cost airline that started operations in 2000. The airline is headquartered in Long Island City in New York and operate out of their main hub at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Primarily providing affordable travel to various domestic destinations within the United States, JetBlue also operates routes to various Caribbean and Central American destinations such as Colombia, Bermuda and Peru. JetBlue is the sixth largest airline in the United States and regularly rate as one of the country’s finest. Its frequent flyer program is called TrueBlue and the airline recently stated that points earned under this program have no expiry date.

How to Check in

Passengers with JetBlue are able to check-in online from 24 hours up to one hour before scheduled departure times. In addition to this, it is also possible to check-in by mobile or do things the conventional way with an airport check-in. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport three hours before international flights and 1-2 hours before domestic flights just to stay on the safe side. For domestic flights, passengers are able to check-in as late as 30 minutes before departing. A remote check-in service is available for some flights, allowing passengers to check-in at places such as hotels and convention centers with ease.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

JetBlue passengers are entitled to one item of checked baggage not exceeding 23kg or 62 inches in total dimensions, except those flying on a Blue fare which requires a fee of around 90AED. The airline also allow travelers to purchase additional baggage allowances, a second bag priced at 130AED and a third bag 370AED*. Passengers flying on a Blue Flex fare are entitled to two items of checked baggage free of charge but will need to pay for a third if required. Baggage allowances are different on select flights, so passengers should consult with the airline for accurate information on your flight. All baggage needs to be checked in at least 1 hour before international flights and 40 minutes before domestic flights.


Passengers flying in Economy Class can enjoy a seat pitch of between 32-42 inches, while Business Class offers generous legroom of 58-60 inches. The airline also offer seats providing additional legroom which travelers can book with the airline. Passengers on JetBlue flights are given the chance to select a specific seat, while a seat will automatically be assigned to you otherwise. The airline provide complementary snacks and drinks on all flights and also have a menu with more substantial fare, while alcoholic beverages are also available on each flight.

Booking Fees

Booking your tickets online will not incur any additional charges, although those booking over the telephone or at a contact center will be required to pay an additional 90AED* booking fee.
