Airport Information - Arriving
Samui International Airport is an airport serving the island of Koh Samui and is located only 2 km outside of the main city on the island. The airport is made up of two passenger terminals and is noted for its open air design and good facilities and amenities. If you are flying from Bangkok you will be arriving at the domestic terminal which is just a short distance away from the international terminal. You’ll find all of the facilities and amenities you would need at the airport including several coffee shops, eateries and restaurants as well as duty-free and souvenir shops. There are also a couple of airport lounges available if you want somewhere more exclusive to wait for your flight. Many visitors to Koh Samui rent a car.

Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport is the busiest airport in Bangkok and the city’s main international airport, located around 25 km from the city center. You can use the Airport Rail Link to travel to the airport which will take you around 20-25 minutes from the center. The airport is made up of a single passenger terminal, one of the largest in the world, and offers everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable experience. There are many different stores selling everything from local arts and crafts to duty-free products and designer brands, while you won’t be short on dining options with the plentiful selection of restaurants, fast food chains and cafés. The airport also provides travelers with free Wi-Fi access for up to two hours and is home to numerous airport lounges.
What to Expect in Samui
You can find ratings and great deals for hotels and resorts on Koh Samui. Temperatures are just as warm in Koh Samui as they are in Bangkok with average highs ranging from 29 to 33 degrees. The most popular time to visit the island is between December to April which sees much drier weather and cooler temperatures.
