Austrian Airlines is a subsidiary of Lufthansa and the flag carrier of Austria, with its headquarters in Vienna. From its main hub in Vienna International Airport, Austrian Airlines provides flights to over 120 international destinations as well as 6 domestic airports within Austria. First established in 1957, Austrian Airlines was purchased by Lufthansa in 2009 and has become one of Europe’s leading airlines. How to Check in

Austrian Airlines allow passengers to check-in online or the traditional way at an airport counter. The online check-in tool is available from 36 hours up to 1 hour before scheduled departure times, while mobile check-ins are also available if this is more convenient for you. Alternatively, you can simply visit an Austrian Airlines check-in counter at the airport to board your flight. During the check-in process passengers have the option to select a seat if you haven’t already chosen one during your booking.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Passengers on Austrian Airlines flights are entitled to bring baggage to check-in as part of the fare, although just how much you are allowed will depend on your flight destination and cabin class. Those flying in Economy are able to bring one piece up to 23kg, while in Business Class this is increased to two pieces up to 32kg each. Passengers wishing to bring more baggage can purchase an additional bag up to 23kg at a price of 290AED* on European flights and 585AED* on International flights.

On Board Information

Austrian Airlines flights offer a regular Economy Class as well as a premium Business Class. Those flying in Economy are afforded ample legroom with a seat pitch of 30-33 inches, while in Business Class passengers can look forward to 40-60 inches of legroom. During the booking or check-in process, passengers have the option to select a seat. On board long-haul flights passengers can look forward to complimentary meals and beverages, while on shorter flights Economy passengers will need to pay an additional fee of around 60AED* for meals.
