Caribbean Airlines

Caribbean Airlines is the flag carrier of Trinidad and Tobago headquartered in Piarco within the country. Out of its two primary operating hubs at Piarco International Airport and Norman Manley International Airport, the airline offers flights to 18 destinations across North America, Central America and the Caribbean, and South America. Although its predecessor was initially established in 1939, Caribbean Airlines was officially founded in 2006 and has grown to become the largest airline in the Caribbean. The airline has its own frequent flyer program called Caribbean Miles and is the parent company of its subsidiary Air Jamaica.

How to Check in

Passengers flying with Caribbean Airlines are able to check-in from the comfort of your own home online, or you can do things the conventional way by checking in at the airport. The online check-in service is available from 24 hours up to 3 hours before scheduled departure times, while mobile check-ins are also available. After checking in online you will be issued with a boarding pass. Alternatively, checking in at the airport is just as simple for those without access to the web.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Caribbean Airlines flights offer generous baggage allowances for passengers as part of the fare, although just how much you are entitled to check-in will depend on your cabin class. For those flying on a Non-Flex or Semi-Flex Economy fare, one item up to 23kg is permitted, while those on a Flex Economy fare can bring two items up to 23kg each. Travelers flying in Business Class are entitled to bring three items of baggage up to 23kg. Passengers are also able to purchase additional baggage allowances, although prices vary according to your destination. In addition to this, all passengers are entitled to bring one item of hand baggage on board flights no heavier than 10kg.


Caribbean Airlines offer a standard Economy Class in addition to Business Class seats for those who like traveling in style. There are three separate fare options when booking flights in Economy Class - Non-Flex, Semi-Flex and Flex. Semi-Flex fares have greater flexibility for cancellations and upgrades, while Flex fares offer increased baggage allowances amongst additional perks. Those flying in Business Class can look forward to spacious legroom to travel in comfort.
