Jin Air

Jin Air is a low-cost airline based in Korea offering flights to a range of domestic and international destinations. Despite being a relatively new airline having been founded in 2008, Jin Air now serves 27 destinations primarily across Asia with a fleet of 22 aircraft. Headquartered in Seoul, Jin Air has two primary operating hubs, Gimpo International Airport and Incheon International Airport, as well as two secondary hubs at Gimhae International Airport and Jeju International Airport. Jin Air currently holds a codeshare agreement with Korean Air as well as interline agreements with a number of airlines including American Airlines.

How to Check in

Jin Air passengers are able to check in to flights the traditional way at a check in counter at the airport. While the airline does not yet support online check ins, it may introduce this feature in the near future. For travelers catching domestic and international flights, you are advised to get to the airport at least 2 hours before your flights as counters close 50 minute prior to departure. Travelers flying to the United States with Jin Air should arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before flights. Ensure that you remember to bring the necessary documentation you will need such as your booking reference to ensure the check in process runs smoothly.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Travelers flying with Jin Air are entitled to bring baggage to check in included in the fare, although how much you can bring will depend on your destination. On all domestic flights and flights to Southeast Asia, Macao, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan, passengers can bring 15kg of baggage to check in, increased to 20kg for flights to and from China. Flights to the Americas offer additional baggage with an allowance of two bags up to 23kg each. Those wishing to bring extra baggage should consult with the airline for the most up-to-date rates. The airline also allows travelers to bring one item of hand baggage on board such as a briefcase of laptop free of charge.

On Board Service

Jin Air provides a range of services and amenities on board to make your traveling experience a pleasant one such as in-flight duty free shopping. On all flights travelers can enjoy complimentary drinks as well as purchase any alcoholic beverages or snacks from the in-flight menu. Longer flights offer the option of a light meal so you don’t go hungry during your journey.

Booking Fees

While there are no hidden booking fees to be paid when booking flights with Jin Air, be advised that the airline currently accepts only Visa and MasterCard for any credit card payments.
