Why Fly with Transavia

How to Check in

Those catching a flight with Transavia are able to check-in online or do things the traditional way by checking in at an airport counter. Most of the airline’s flights can be checked into online from 30 hours up to 4 hours before departure times, although bear in mind that not all airports support this feature. Otherwise, checking in at the airport is just as simple, although be advised that the opening and closing times for check-in counters varies according to your airport. Transavia advises passengers to arrive at their chosen airport at least 2 hours before flights leave to stay on the safe side.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Travelers looking to check baggage into the hold with Transavia will need to pay an additional fee as the airline operates a tier-system based on the weight of your baggage and the length of your flight. Check directly with the airline for accurate information about prices on your flight. For example, purchasing 15kg of baggage will cost 35-100AED*, while buying up to 50kg of baggage will cost 245-380AED*. Be advised that baggage is a lot cheaper to purchase during booking as rates are much higher at the airport. Depending on the fare you have purchased, sometimes checked baggage is included such as the Plus fare which grants 20kg and a Max fare which entitles you to 30kg. Passengers are also allowed to bring one item of hand baggage on board up to 10kg, increased to two items with a Max fare.

Transavia offer a number of different options for those looking to purchase a preferred seat, whether it’s sitting together with friends or purchasing seats with additional legroom. For those with a Basic fare, buying a standard seat will cost 15AED per flight, while those looking for a seat with extra legroom will need to pay a surcharge of 40AED* per flight.
