There are many airlines you can travel with to reach the UK from the UAE directly. The two main airlines are Etihad Airways and Emirates, while you can also travel with British Airways out of Dubai.

Emirates is the flag carrier of Dubai operating flights all over the globe out of its main hub at Dubai International Airport. With Emirates you can catch flights to Birmingham, Glasgow, London Heathrow Airport, London Gatwick Airport, London Stansted Airport and Newcastle, the most extensive range of destinations in the UK offered by any airline from the UAE. In addition to flights with Emirates, you can travel to London Heathrow Airport with British Airways.

Etihad Airways is the national airline of Abu Dhabi with its primary operating hub at Abu Dhabi International Airport. If you are traveling to the UK out of Abu Dhabi you can journey to Edinburgh, London Heathrow Airport and Manchester with Etihad Airways. Additionally, British Airways operates flights to London Heathrow Airport from Abu Dhabi.

London Heathrow Airport is the main airport serving London and also the busiest airport in Europe comprised of four passenger terminals. When you have landed at the airport, the fastest way to journey into central London is on the Heathrow Express which takes just 15 minutes, although there are several other modes of transport including the London Underground available.

London Gatwick Airport is the second busiest airport in the UK located around 50 km outside of London. Made up of two passenger terminals, the airport offers excellent amenities so you’re sure to find everything you need. When you have arrived you can hop on the Gatwick Express train which can whisk you into London in just 30 minutes, although alternatives such as buses and coaches are available.

London Stansted Airport is London's third busiest airport located around 70 km from the city center. The airport is linked to central London via train and bus if you don't want to catch a taxi. Inside the airport you'll find plenty of amenities and facilities to meet your needs including several restaurants, cafes and shops alongside duty-free shopping.

Manchester Airport is the third busiest in the country consisting of three passenger terminals. One of the most popular ways to travel into central Manchester is on the tram which is directly connected to the airport, although you can also find buses if you would prefer.

Birmingham Airport is located only around 10 km from Birmingham’s city center and is home to two passenger terminals. The airport is connected to the city center by public transport including bus and rail if you would rather not get a taxi.

Glasgow International Airport is the primary airport serving Glasgow situated just over 10 km from the city. The most popular way to reach central Glasgow from the airport is on the Glasgow Shuttle bus, although taxis are available for those who want to travel directly to their destination.

Edinburgh Airport is home to a single passenger terminal and offers plenty of amenities and facilities for travelers. Public transport is available for those who don’t want to take a taxi as you can travel into central Edinburgh by bus or tram.

United Kingdom Travel Information

Remember that UAE nationals can enter the UK with an electronic visa waiver which can be applied for online before traveling. As you venture further north in the UK you will find the weather gets colder, especially in Glasgow and Edinburgh, but you will need to pack warm clothing (and a rain jacket) with you over winter no matter where you visit in the country.

All of the cities you can travel to from the UAE have extensive public transport networks, especially in London which is served by the London Underground as well as buses and trains. However, if you did want to drive your own car during your stay you will find plenty of leading car rental agencies at all airports.
