UTair, also known as UTair Aviation, is a Russian carrier operating both domestic and international flights out of its two primary hubs at Surgut International Airport and Vnukovo International Airport. Flying to many Russian airports in addition to destinations across Asia and Europe, UTair has a fleet of 66 aircraft and also owns a subsidiary cargo service UTair-Cargo. Established in 1967, UTair rebranded in 2003. Regular passengers with UTair can join the airline’s frequent flyer program, STATUS.

How to Check in

Travelers flying with UTair are able to check-in over the web or at the airport depending on your preferences. Those wishing to check-in online can do so from 24 hours up to 1 hour before flights depart, although you should be advised that not all airports currently support this function. Alternatively, you can just as easily check-in at the airport by visiting a UTair counter - be sure to arrive with plenty of time to spare in case of long queues if you choose to check-in at the airport. Most check-in counters open 90 minutes and close 40 minutes before flights, but opening and closing times can vary.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Passengers on board UTair flights are permitted to bring baggage to check-in - allowances vary according to your fare type and cabin class. Economy travelers are allowed one item up to 23kg, while those in Economy Comfort are granted two items up to 23kg each. In Business you are afforded a bit more baggage with a limit of two items up to 32kg each. UTair also offer a Light Fare option which only allows one carry-on bag up to 10kg and no larger than 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. STATUS frequent flyer members are also entitled to bring an additional bag on top of your allowance. Travelers are additionally allowed to bring hand baggage on board - in Economy you are allowed one item up to 10kg, while in Economy Comfort and Business Class this is increased to two items up to 10kg each. UTair flights offer regular Economy Class seats as well as Economy Comfort and Business Class for those looking for a superior traveling experience. Economy Comfort seats offer extra legroom if you enjoy more space during your journey, while in Business Class you can benefit from luxurious seating and a personalized service. Economy Comfort seats can be purchased for an additional 80AED* on top of your fare on international flights.
