Airport Information - Arriving
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport is Thailand’s busiest airport offering a huge array of amenities and services to keep travelers happy. There is a wide selection of dining and drinking establishments available at the airport so you can fill up before continuing your journey, while there are a large range of shops to browse through at the airport to pick up everything you need for your trip. Once you have landed at the airport you can travel into central Bangkok in around 25 minutes on the Airport Rail Link network.
Don Mueang International Airport is Bangkok’s oldest airport but has recently benefited from significant renovation work in 2007 to boost its overall quality up to modern standards. Getting into central Bangkok from the airport is possible by train and there is also a free shuttle bus running to and from Suvarnabhumi Airport. All of the amenities and services you would need are available including numerous shops as well as cafes and eateries, so you won’t be short on options.
Airport Information - Departing
Chiang Mai International Airport is the main gateway into Chiang Mai and is comprised of two interconnected passenger terminals which you can travel between on foot easily. As well as its decent range of shops where you can get all your travel essentials, the airport offers a few different places to eat and drink if you want to grab a bite to eat before flying out. The airport itself is only 3km (2 miles) outside of the city so you can easily reach the city by taxi in only 15 minutes.

In Bangkok you can expect the weather to be fairly similar to Chiang Mai as it stays warm all year round. The city experiences a rainy season which begins in May and lasts all the way until October so be prepared for the rain.
